Hairdressing has always been Andrea’s passion ever since she started working as a Saturday junior at the age of 12 years old.
Her career started when she attended model nights while still at school and she started work at the age of 12 in her first salon, David Jon at Fiveways in Birmingham. Andrea then moved on to Raymond’s on New Street where she also attended training college. Due to her passion and enthusiasm, Andrea qualified within a year and a half and went to work at Renaissance, where she was trained by Vidal Sassoon stylists.
Andrea was keen to develop her career so she moved to leading hairdressers, Umberto Giannini’s at Brindley Place where she first worked as a junior and within three months was promoted to junior stylist. It was here that Andrea was trained under Lisa Shepherd extensively in colour and started to form her own client base, which included a few famous faces.
Andrea became salon manager for Lisa Shepherd when she opened her Kidderminster salon, however opening a salon of her own was always her dream. That dream has come true with – Hillgrove Court on Mill Street in Kidderminster which opened in 2007
Andrea’s career has taken her around the world, as she has been involved in various international photoshoots from Europe to Australia.
What’s more, Andrea has also been recognised in the industry and won several awards. In 2005 Andrea won a place on the F.A.M.E team. She was also nominated for British newcomer and Midlands hairdresser of the year while working for Lisa Shepherd and also worked on stage at Salon International.
In 2008, Andrea won the regional final for the L’Oreal colour trophy and was nominated for British Business Newcomer for the BHBA and British Colourist for BHA. In 2009 she was nominated for Midlands Hairdresser of the Year for BHA.
